Yoga. You guys. What a beautiful thing. Every time I do yoga, I am reminded how much I love it and I question why I don't do it more.

I've always wanted to be one of those people who has their life together, joins a yoga studio, and actually goes to yoga. But alas, my own insecurities have always stopped me - I've been too afraid of looking silly and being judged for my poses.

FINALLY. THIS WAS THE YEAR. 2019.

I JOINED A YOGA STUDIO. At the beginning of this semester, I joined a really cool yoga studio close to my apartment which makes it super convenient to go to yoga and class all in one day. My first class was incredible and I felt right at home. It was a very safe environment where I did not feel judged at all and felt comfortable in my own skin. I'm also super supportive of this yoga studio because they have a non profit sector. The instructors go into inner city schools to do trauma informed yoga therapy with the students.

I find that yoga is not only a great way to stretch my body and get the every day kinks out, but it is a way to free my mind, stay present and mindful, and relax. Yoga is helps improve physical and mental health. If you can find 30 minutes in your day to scroll through your facebook feed, you can find 30 minutes a day to practice yoga and mindfulness (and I'm sure it'll leave you feeling better than your facebook feed will).

YouTube has a lot of free videos too - my favorite is Yoga With Adrienne.

I'm looking forward to incorporating yoga into my weekly routine and I encourage you to do the same!
